Where is St. George?
St. George, Utah is in southwestern Utah. It is on the Arizona border and close to Nevada. How far is Epic’s St. George location from other major airports? Not far at all! Your flight training will take you to nearby Cedar City Airport (CDC) (43 nautical miles) and Las Vegas (LAS( (97 nautical miles). There are approximately 170 airports in Utah, nearly 1,000 in neighboring Arizona, and 150+ in Nevada, so you can fly to a number of cities.

Cost to Attend Flight School in Utah
How much does school cost in Utah? We break down the complete cost of flight training from private pilot through commercial through instructor. The cost varies between domestic pilots and international pilots. It also varies based on which ratings and certificates you want to earn. Your regular and consistent attendance and completion of flight lessons is critical to your success.
Training Options at the St. George Campus
- Full-time Flight Training: 5 days per week, up to 2 activities per day
- Part-time Flight Training: Full flexibility. Recommend scheduling a minimum of 3 to 4 times weekly to maintain proficiency. Less than this can severely limit your progress.
How long is flight school in Utah?
Again, this varies with every student based on attendance and schedule ability. On average, it takes approximately 3 months to complete your PPL. Next, you’ll earning your Instrument Rating, which takes around 2 months. After that, your commercial pilot license (CSEL) will take another 2 months. Most US flight students go on to earn their CFI and CFII in order to work as a flight instructor. Your best approach is to focus and study! This is what our top students do.
