Volume 7, Issue 1 | January 2024 Six New Cessnas Arrived in December The Epic fleet grew last month as we took delivery of six brand new Cessna Skyhawks at our New Smyrna Beach campus. Epic pilots picked up the new planes at the Cessna factory in Independence, Kansas and flew them to Florida. Next, our maintenance department will paint the tails red, and our students will enjoy training in these excellent aircraft! Volume 6, Issue 12 | December 2023 Meet Our 2023 Scholarship Winners L-R: Shemuel Ortiz, Orion Maka, New Smyrna Beach Mayor Fred Cleveland, Juliana Gonzalez, Robert Brown (not pictured: Melissa Hernandez, Roger Roden, Cody Stebbins) On Saturday, November 4, 2023, Epic Flight Academy announced the recipients of the 8th Annual Aviation Scholarship Awards during a special event and career fair. Seven high school students received a total of $80,000 in scholarships. New Smyrna Beach Mayor Fred Cleveland presented the awards on behalf of Epic. Robert Brown and Orion Maka each won $20,000 for aircraft mechanic training. Volume 6, Issue 11 | November 2023 Grand Opening at New Tucson, Arizona Flight School Epic hosted a grand opening at its third satellite flight school location at the Tucson International Airport on Oct. 27, 2023. The Tucson Metro Chamber of Commerce joined Epic staff for a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and CommuteAir pilots brought in an Embraer ERJ-145 jet for the occasion. The press and public turned out for discovery flights, food and fun. Volume 6, Issue 7 | July 2023 Construction Update at CVG Airport We’re making progress on our new location! Founder and CEO Danny Perna and his wife Amy (below) visited the construction site of the new Aircraft Mechanic training facility at CVG Airport a few days ago. Construction is going well and on schedule. We expect to hold our first classes there in early 2024 in partnership with FEAM Aero.  If you’re ready to train as an aircraft mechanic, our next class begins Sept. 25 at our New Smyrna Beach, FL campus. Volume 6, Issue 6 | June 2023 Aircraft Mechanics on the Move Congratulations to our May 2023 aircraft mechanic graduates! They have completed Epic’s 19-month Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic Program. Epic COO & Director of the Aircraft Mechanic Program Josh Rawlins presented certificates to each graduate. These students worked incredibly hard, and we wish them all the best in their exciting new careers! They can even transfer their A&P training to Polk State College for 30 credit hours toward an AS degree in Aviation Maintenance Administration.  We were also happy to welcome a new class of aircraft mechanic students to campus (below).
