We will require you to obtain your Class 1 Medical prior to flight training. Therefore, we are asking you to respond to each medical point below:Vision: Your eyesight will be examined for color blindness, blind spots, or any other issues that could keep you from performing your duties as a pilot. Glasses and contact lenses are allowed as long as you have 20/20 distant vision and 20/40 near vision. I believe I meet the vision requirements Hearing: Your hearing will be examined through an audiogram. You will also be given a balance test, and the doctor will check your sinuses. I believe I meet the hearing requirements Blood samples: Blood tests measure hemoglobin value, which determines if you have the capacity to transport oxygen throughout your body. This is important so you don’t pass out while flying. Your blood is also checked for cholesterol. I believe I meet the blood work requirements Urine samples: Urine tests measure leakages of blood and sugar levels. Urine samples can also check for drugs. If you are diabetic and take insulin through injections, you will be disqualified. However, if you take tablets for a mild or early form of diabetes, you can still fly. I believe I meet these medical requirements General health exam: The doctor will also listen to your heart and lungs and check your reflexes and blood pressure. Your height and weight should be in a normal range, because you will be climbing in and out of cockpits that are not spacious. If your BMI (body mass index) exceeds 35, you could lose your medical and license. In an emergency, you would need to be able to evacuate through a window. If you have ADHD, you can be a pilot, but you cannot be treated with pharmacological subsets. I believe I meet these medical requirements Basic math skills are required to become a pilot.
