Training Options at the Tuscaloosa Campus
- Full-time Flight Training: 5 days per week, up to 2 activities per day
- Part-time Flight Training: Full flexibility. Recommend scheduling a minimum of 3 to 4 times weekly to maintain proficiency. Less than this can severely limit your progress.

How long is flight school in Alabama?
Again, this varies with every student based on attendance and ability, although acceleration is possible. On average, it takes approximately 3 months to complete your PPL. Next, you’ll earning your Instrument Rating, which takes around 2 months. After that, your commercial pilot license (CSEL) will take another 2 months. Most U.S. flight students go on to earn their CFI and CFII in order to work as a flight instructor. Your best approach is to focus and study! This is what our top students do.
