Danbury is located in southwest Connecticut along the New York State line. How far is Epic’s Danbury location from other major airports? Not far at all! Your flight training will take you to nearby Bradley International Airport in Hartford (BDL) (42 nautical miles). You might even fly into New York City airspace (48 nautical miles. There are approximately 20 airports in Connecticut and many more in nearby New York, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. The sky’s the limit.

Cost to Attend Flight School in Connecticut
How much does school cost in Connecticut? We break down the complete cost of flight training from private pilot through commercial through instructor. Training Options at the Connecticut Campus
- Full-time Flight Training: 5 days per week, up to 2 activities per day
- Part-time Flight Training: Full flexibility. Recommend scheduling a minimum of 3 to 4 times weekly to maintain proficiency. Less than this can severely limit your progress.
How long is flight school in Connecticut?
Again, this varies with every student based on attendance and ability. On average, it takes approximately 3 months to complete your PPL. Next, you’ll earning your Instrument Rating, which takes around 2 months. After that, your commercial pilot license (CSEL) will take another 2 months. Most US flight students go on to earn their CFI and CFII in order to work as a flight instructor. Your best approach is to focus and study! This is what our top students do.
