Matthieu Hughes

Epic Graduate Matthieu Hughes

Matthieu Hughes is now a First Officer with Sunrise Airways flying the Embraer 120. Matthieu is from Antigua and Barbuda and earned his PPL, IR, CSEL, and CMEL at Epic.

Searuddin Alakoozi

Epic Graduate Searuddin Alakoozi

Searuddin flies for Kam Air as a First Officer on the B737! He shared this about his experience at Epic:

“My experience at Epic Flight Academy was great from start to finish. The instructors I had were knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely cared about helping me become a better pilot. I couldn’t have imagined being in this position without the help of my instructor. She pushed me beyond what I thought I was ever capable of! Everyone at Epic was friendly and supportive, and they made the whole process much easier, especially as an international student. I’m very happy with the training I received and would definitely recommend Epic Flight Academy to anyone looking to start or continue their aviation career.”

Master Pilot Hal Maskiell Retires

Hal Maskiell Retirement

If you graduated from Epic, chances are you flew with or at least met flight instructor Hal Maskiell. Hal began training pilots at Epic in 2014. His aviation career began with his private pilot license in 1967, and in 2017 he received the FAA’s Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award. Hal has trained countless flight instructors and conducted prog checks for many Epic pilots. The skies are safer thanks to his careful instruction, and if anyone deserves to retire, it’s Hal. We thank him for his contributions to the aviation community and to his students and colleagues here at Epic.
