Airframe & Powerplant Test Prep Course
Epic Flight Academy offers a two-week refresher course to prepare for FAA Part 147 Airframe & Powerplant certifications. You can take this course at either of our two aircraft mechanic campuses: New Smyrna Beach, Florida and Erlanger, Kentucky at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
Who is eligible for this refresher course?
Mechanics with requisite civilian or military experience 14 CFR Part 65 who have obtained the FAA Form 8610-2 and need to refresh knowledge and skills prior to completing the FAA written, oral, and practical examinations in pursuit of an FAA Mechanic certificate can register for this course.
What are the requirements to apply?
To obtain FAA Form 8610-2 for approval to test for an FAA Aircraft Mechanic certificate, you must have evidence of 18 months of practical experience in the individual rating sought. Or, you must have 30 months of concurrent experience performing the duties of both ratings if seeking a combined A&P certificate.
How long is the course?
The two-week course runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Week one consists of lectures focused on the General and Airframe subjects. You should plan on taking the FAA General written exam by Thursday of week one (pending testing center schedule availability).
Week two continues the lectures on Airframe and then leads into the subject of Powerplant. You should plan on taking the FAA Airframe written exam by Tuesday, and the FAA Powerplant written exam by Friday of week two (pending testing center schedule availability).

- Tuition: $2,100 (Due on the Friday before the class start date)
