A Look Back at 2020
The Southeast Volusia Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for our new Part 147 aircraft mechanic school on December 16th. This event capped off a year that saw exceptional student achievement and exciting growth at Epic Flight Academy. Early in the year, Epic awarded $100,000 in aircraft mechanic scholarships in anticipation of the program’s launch. Epic also awarded $44,500 in aviation scholarships to high school students during its 5th annual scholarship awards. These were supported by Epic’s annual fishing tournament. Of course, one of our favorite highlights was being the first and only flight school in the world to take delivery of a custom-built Frasca Cessna 172 AATD with motion-cueing system for fixed-wing devices. We are grateful for a wonderful year and thank our students and staff as we begin our 22nd year in the flight training business.

Alumni News
We love checking in with our graduates and finding out how they’re doing in their aviation careers. We recently heard from Tung Thanh Nguyen (left) who is a First Officer with Vietnam Airlines flying an Airbus A321. At Epic, he earned his PPL, IR, and CMEL in just 11 months.
We also heard from Mhayyar Alnabhany (right) who flies for Precision Air in Tanzania. Mhayyar said, “The experience I had at Epic was one that I could not get elsewhere – very good instructors, brand new glass cockpit Cessnas and Pipers, very good learning environment. I would recommend Epic for anyone who’s trying to be a very good pilot.”
