Hi Ronald,
It was different when I went through training than now. I would give yourself 12 months from zero to instructor, then another year and a half to build 1,500 hours which is required for your ATP/CTP.
captain steveParticipantHello Charles,
I am currently flying the Airbus 319/320/321. I have flown numerous single-engine, multi-engine, turbo prop, business jets, and a number of airliners. That’s a tough question but the Boeing 757/767 may edge out the rest in my opinion. Its performance and comfort are tough to beat.
captain steveParticipantHello Barbara,
In-flight emergencies can take many forms. They may be a mechanical problem, disruptive passenger, a medical emergency, etc. The vast majority of issues are handled with methodical use of checklists, standard procedures, and reliance on extensive training. The confidence in which a pilot handles an emergency is a direct result of their quality training and experience.
Great question. Thank you for asking.
