Bio
Captain Steve has been married to his wife Lucy for 31 years and has lived in the local area since 2004 with their two daughters. His aviation career started in 1986 with an enlistment to the Air Force as a Crew Chief (aircraft mechanic) on the F-15 Eagle. While in the Air Force he obtained his A&P license and took flying lessons at the Aero Club. After four years of active duty service, he joined the New York Air National Guard as a Flight Engineer on the C-5 Galaxy and served there for 10 years. He then transferred to the Air Force Reserves as a CAP liaison. He retired from the military in 2007. His pilot career started with a northeast commuter airline and then in 1996 to TWA where he flew the MD80 and Boeing 757/767. During a 13-year furlough from American Airlines, Steve joined NetJets Aviation flying a variety of business jet aircraft. His college education comes from the University of New Haven where he holds a Bachelor of Science in Air Transportation Management. Currently, he is a Captain on the Airbus 319/320/321 for American Airlines based in New York. Steve is the president of a local homeowners’ association and has served on the Epic Flight Academy scholarship selection committee since its inception. He enjoys boating, hiking, flying RC airplanes, and traveling with his family.
