Things To Do In Orlando

Many of our students travel here from around the world, so they try to see and do as much in Florida as possible. Orlando has become a top vacation destination, so when they have some free time, our students ask us about things to do in Orlando. Fortunately, we are located near Orlando (about an hour’s drive), so once you know what to do on your day off from school, it’s easy to plan a visit to Orlando and make some special memories.

Theme Parks

Theme Parks – It’s safe to say that Orlando is the theme park capital of the world. The wonderful world of Disney includes: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Blizzard Beach, and Typhoon Lagoon. The Orlando area also offers SeaWorld, which also features their Waterpark, Aquatica, and Discovery Cove where you can swim with dolphins. LEGOLAND is a water park, and then there’s Universal’s Islands of Adventure, and Universal Studios. Trying to visit every theme park while you’re attending flight school might be a bit daunting, but we hope you at least get to visit one. We can’t agree on a favorite here, but the Magic Kingdom is the original, so maybe that’s the place to start.

Attractions

World Famous Attractions – If theme parks aren’t your idea of fun, the Orlando area is home to many other attractions. Here are just a few: Fun Spot America, WonderWorks Orlando, Andretti Indoor Karting & Games, iFly Orlando Indoor Skydiving, I-Drive NASCAR, TopGolf Orlando, Gatorland (one of Florida’s oldest attractions, and yes, there are live alligators), Orlando Tree Trek Adventure Park, and Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! and, believe it or not, this is just a short list!

Nightlife

Nightlife – For mixing, mingling, and music, plan an evening at any of these fun night spots: Universal CityWalk, Disney’s BoardWalk, Wall Street Plaza, Old Town, Downtown Orlando, and ICON Orlando 360. You’ll find live music, good food, and special events. Don’t stay out too late! You don’t want to be late for class the next day.

Explore the Outdoors

Mother Nature – You haven’t seen “real” Florida until you’ve seen a gator in the swamp. Well, you should at least see a swamp! See Florida’s scenic landscape from a kayak, swamp buggy, airboat, zip line, or hang glider. Check out Kissimmee Swamp Tours, Central Florida Nature Adventures, Spirit of the Swamp Airboat Rides, Airboat Rides at Midway, Wild Florida Airboats, Boggy Creek Airboat Rides, Forever Florida (zip lines and trail buggies), and Wallaby Ranch Hang Gliding for enjoying a unique perspective of Central Florida’s wildlife venues.

We want you to make the most of your time in the Central Florida area, so when you do need some fun time away from school or when family and friends come to visit, you can enjoy historic New Smyrna Beach, world-famous Daytona Beach, and the world’s #1 tourist destination – Orlando!
