Phil Kish was born and raised here in New Smyrna Beach. Phil earned his accounting & finance degree from Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL, where he was a member of the college baseball team for 3 years.
After graduation, he did not enter the accounting field right away. He signed a professional contract with the Toronto Blue Jays, where he played for approximately 3 years within the organization traveling around the country among the affiliates. He played in Canada and the Australian Baseball League in Canberra, Australia before finishing his career in 2016.
After baseball, Phil studied and passed the CPA exam in 2018. Phil has worked in public accounting for Ernst & Young, auditing many Fortune 500 companies. Prior to coming to Epic, he worked in SEC Reporting/Corporate accounting for TopBuild Corporation performing annual/quarterly SEC disclosures preparations, lease accounting, long-term debt analyses, stock compensation, and business combinations.
