Joe is a born and raised Floridian. He is coming to us working on his second journey in life. His first journey was a firefighter/paramedic with the City of Orlando Fire Department. During his 17-year tenure in the fire service some of his roles included Special Operations Team member, Hazardous Materials Technician, Live Fire Instructor, Paramedic Preceptor, Health and Safety Division, EMS/Quality Assurance Division and New hire orientation programs. Due to an unforeseen injury, Joe decided to pursue his childhood dream, becoming an airline pilot. Joe started his Private Pilot schooling in DeLand. He then went on to Daytona to complete his Instrument, Commercial, CFI/CFII. After hearing such good things about Epic Flight Academy, (Thanks Kevin Porter!), he decided to apply here as an instructor, and judging from the constant smile on his face, he made the right decision! During his off-time Joe enjoys spending time with his two boys, leisure flying, golfing, fishing, surfing and coaching youth baseball.
