Tony Vecchio was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He attended aviation school at Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma straight out of high school. His interest in aviation came about when a recruiter came to his vocational electronics class in high school to talk about aviation electronics at their school. Tony decided that was what he wanted to do, so at 17 years old packed up and moved to Tulsa. While there his interests changed to the aviation maintenance program. Upon graduating he returned to Miami to start his career as an A&P mechanic. He became a top-notch mechanic and at age 26 was promoted to shop supervisor at a Part 145 repair station. Tony became Director of Maintenance and VP of maintenance for other maintenance shops and commuter airlines. He also traveled widely to perform pre-buy inspections including logbook research before authorizing purchases of aircraft.
