Greetings everybody. I am a 20-year-old high school graduate from Dhaka, Bangladesh, interested in starting flight training at Epic Flight Academy. However, I’m extremely ill at ease because traditionally, most students begin their pilot training soon after finishing high school at 18-19. Unfortunately, I had to take a 1.5-year gap due to unprecedented personal reasons. Is it too late for me to begin training? Would this age gap have negative consequences in my future career? I highly appreciate your time to answer.

    Hello Shehran303,

Yes. You still meet our age criteria. An individual must be 16 years old to solo an aircraft, 17 years old to obtain a Private Pilot Certificate, 18 years old to obtain a Commercial Pilot Certificate and 23 years old to obtain an Airline Transport Certificate. FAR Part 121 (major airline regulations) require all pilots to retire at the age of 65.

To become a trained airline pilot at Epic Flight Academy in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, USA you must:
    1) Be at least 17 years of age
    2) Speak English proficiently
    3) International students must have a valid passport (Passport information: https://epicflightacademy.com/passports/) or two other forms of identification if you are from the USA
    4) Completed high school or secondary education (Grades don’t matter, only that you completed school.)

To see if you qualify for this training, kindly complete this prequalification form: https://epicflightacademy.com/prequalification-enrollment/

Thank you for using our forum!
