I have been conditionally accepted into the Aviate Program with zero hours, but I have received a 78% on my FAA exam and I am still waiting to hear back on my medical approval. I did receive a funding amount of $86,500 from Zuntafi lending. The Aviate Academy won’t have an available class until 2023 at this point, so I am waiting on a lot of factors.
I am curious if I go ahead and get my PPL through Epic, can those funds be transferred to this school instead of the Aviate Academy in Phoenix?
Do I need my 1st class medical to begin flight training?
Also, do you require the FAA exam to be completed before taking flight training, or can I begin my flight training with the 78% and just retake later to achieve the required 80%?
I am just ready to start my journey to being a captain, and I feel like if I wait another 4-6 months for an Aviate class to start, that is valuable time I could be working towards my licensing. I am definitely interested in being a part of Aviate, but maybe a different path to get there would work better for me?
I appreciate any help and feedback on this matter. I will get back to you on this, but we are approved with ZuntaFi for the aircraft mechanic financing.Do I need my 1st class medical to begin flight training?
We advise students to obtain an FAA medical before they join. The first class medical gives the student the assurance that they can be hired with the airlines or professionally, so we do recommend they obtain that class of FAA medical for that reason. Also, do you require the FAA exam to be completed before taking flight training, or can I begin my flight training with the 78% and just retake later to achieve the required 80%?
The FAA requires a passing score of 70% for a written exam. We can take your exam with the current score provided. Although, we do recommend you opt-in for our ground school and are welcome to re-taking the exam if you’d like.Thank you for using our forum!
