Hello!
I’m reaching out on behalf of my boyfriend Alex. He is looking into flight schools and looking for guidance on the way forward. He currently had his PPL in Mexico which he transferred to the US when he moved here 5 years ago. He has the FAA card that shows he has a foreign PPL. He needs to go back to Mexico, which he plans to do next month, to ensure his Mexican license stays valid. Our question is this- will he need to retake the PPL in the USA to continue on with commercial flight training? If not, how does this process work? Thank youHi there!
He will have to submit his foreign PPL to the FAA for verification, after that the FAA will advise him to let his license be current.
