You can transfer from one vocational school to another, but only if you apply for and receive permission from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) prior to transferring. You may only transfer to another school within the first six months from the date you were admitted to the U.S. to begin your studies or from the date you changed your non-immigrant status to become an M-1 student. You are not permitted to change your course of study, and you must be a full-time student when you transfer and continue to maintain your full-time status.
