English Tutoring Course

Aviation English Tutoring Course

What if I need help with English when I arrive at Epic?

Epic Flight Academy screens for English proficiency before admitting students. However, we sometimes find that international flight school students need a little extra help. We want our students to complete their training in a cost-effective and time-efficient way. Therefore, we offer limited English tutoring for those who are having difficulty in reading, writing, speaking, and/or comprehending English.

What subjects are taught in the English Tutoring Course?

We design lessons for each individual students based on their needs. Therefore, topics vary depending on what material is being taught in Ground School. English tutoring focuses on Aviation English. As a result, each lesson reinforces material student pilots cover in Ground School. Tutors use various teaching strategies to help international students with pronunciation and comprehension. These classes also help students with basic English challenges that will help them communicate in other settings. We want our students to not only be successful at Epic, but also to feel comfortable living in the United States while attending flight school.

How much does English tutoring cost?

English classes cost $35 per hour and are offered twice a week. Because the instructor teaches study skills and strategies for learning English, most students only require a few weeks of tutoring. Epic’s goal is to get students out of English classes and into the air as quickly as possible! As soon as our English students pass the written FAA exam, we exit them from the English tutoring program.
