Nate found his passion for aviation as a teenager after spending a summer in Sweden with a friend whose father was an airline pilot. On the flight home to the US, the father arranged for Nate to be invited to the cockpit. Sitting in the jump seat with a view above the clouds, he knew one day he would become a pilot.
Nate graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in Dietetics and Management in 2015. He married his college sweetheart, and they bought their first home in Louisville, KY where he worked in management. Life being unpredictable and full of surprises, Nate’s career path in management ended during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic. No stranger to adversity, he was determined to turn a negative into a positive. Nate and his wife sold their home and left their old life behind, moving from Kentucky to Florida in 2021 to pursue his dream of becoming a pilot and career in aviation.
From 2022-2023, Nate earned his Private, Instrument, Commercial, CFI, and CFII Certificates through the Epic Flight Academy pilot training program. As a Flight Instructor, Nate utilizes the leadership and problem-solving skills from his previous career to effectively develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence of aspiring pilots to help them reach their goals in aviation.
