New Smyrna Beach, FL – Epic Flight Academy staff members Jon Luck, Shayna McCalla, and Stephanie Babian recently presented a $20,000 scholarship voucher to the TESA Academy at Atlantic High School in Port Orange, Florida. TESA stands for Technology, Engineering, Science, and Aeronautics. The school has the discretion to award the full amount to a single student or to make smaller awards to a number of students. The scholarship will support FAA Part 147 Aircraft Mechanic training at Epic Flight Academy. Epic also donated $700-800 worth of aviation tools for the TESA students to use at the high school.

TESA Director Amanda Silva said, “We are grateful to Epic for their partnership and continued support of our aerospace program. The presented scholarship will provide aviation maintenance training, after graduation from high school, which offers an immense advantage for our students. The donated tools will be put to good use in our hangar. They provide the potential for new projects that in the past were not possible. This generous gift of opportunity means a great deal to us.”

“Epic has awarded several scholarships to Atlantic High School students down through the years,” said Epic CEO Danny Perna. “However, this is the first time we’ve provided the funds directly to the school to award at their discretion.” Epic’s Aircraft Mechanic Program takes approximately 19 months to complete with new classes starting three times each year.
