FAQ » » As a Veteran, what type of medical certification am I required to have?

Please note that currently the GI Bill is not supporting flight training.

Eligible Veterans may receive educational benefits for flight training provided they possess a valid medical certificate from the program in which they are enrolled. VA regulations require that in order to receive benefits for flight training programs other than Airline Transport Pilot (ATP), a student must possess a valid second class medical certificate on or before the first day of enrollment. A student pursuing an ATP course must have a valid first class medical certificate on or before the first day of enrollment.
