Epic Takes Delivery of New Cessna
Epic Flight Academy purchases all training aircraft new from the factory. Students and staff turned out to welcome the newest addition to the Epic fleet, a Cessna Skyhawk 172S Nav III. We flew this in directly from the Cessna/Textron factory in Kansas. Epic’s maintenance department has since painted the tail red to match the rest of the fleet. The red tails make the aircraft more visible, which is an added safety feature.
Career Seminars
Epic hosted three Career Seminars with representatives from Air Wisconsin, GoJet Airlines, and Republic Airways. Pilots and aircraft mechanics are in high demand, and we appreciate our airline partners visiting on site to share hiring opportunities like these.
Epic Awards $25,000 Aircraft Mechanic Scholarship
Congratulations to Andruw Bunch (center in gray t-shirt), pictured here accepting a backpack from COO Josh Rawlins as Epic staff members look on. Epic presented a $25,000 merit scholarship to Andruw, a successful member of the CUDAS UnHooked program, which serves New Smyrna Beach students. He started Aircraft Mechanic classes in February and is doing a great job.
If you enjoy hands-on learning, you’ll love our Aircraft Mechanic Program! Our next class begins on May 31st. See if you’re eligible to enroll!

Epic Alumni Spotlight
Hearing from our Epic graduates is always fun, especially when they have good news to share. Emma Grimes recently visited campus as did Tyler Rokosny. Emma is a First Officer with GoJet. She was here for a career seminar. Tyler is a a Captain with Republic Airways and also visited during a career seminar. Epic graduate Aman Bharadwaj is now a First Officer with Blue Dart, and we also congratulate Abby Garcia for her achievements. If you graduated from Epic, let us hear from you!
Visit From Scholarship Winner
We enjoyed a visit from scholarship winner Julia Juedes and her father last month. Julia is from Winneconne, Wisconsin. She won a $20,000 Aircraft Mechanic Scholarship but was unable to attend our scholarship event at the time. We’re so glad she was able to make the trip to Epic at last!
Airport News
It’s always fun when the Goodyear Blimp visits. “Wingfoot Two” was based at the New Smyrna Beach Airport during Daytona 500 providing rides for sick and disadvantaged children in the community.
