Rafael is a native Floridian who has lived in Orlando, Tallahassee, and now Ocala. He began his flight training soon after graduating high school at a small Part 61 school in Tallahassee. He earned his Private and Instrument rating on steam gauge Pipers from the ‘60s and ‘70s. He worked six days a week fitting in his flight training when he could. Soon after completing his instrument rating, Rafael decided it was time to go full-time with Part 141 training. He earned his Commercial license in a Cirrus SR20 out of Sanford. After some setbacks, he was recommended to Epic by one of his fellow classmates at his old Part 61 school to come finish his training with us! Rafael went back to Tallahassee and enrolled in Epic’s recently opened TLH campus. Immediately he noticed a heightened quality of instruction, aircraft, and community. Here, Rafael received his CFI and CFII certificates and is now a proud member of the Epic family!
