Joshua Cortez was born and raised in Sacramento, California, where he developed a passion for aviation at a young age. He continued pursuing that path at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Science. He holds his MEI, CFI, and CFII, and is passionate about helping others achieve their aviation goals.
Outside of aviation, Joshua is the co-founder of PuraJets, an aircraft detailing company serving the greater Volusia County area. He is also an active member of the Volusia Community Arts Ensemble, performing as second chair trumpet in the symphony and jazz ensemble, and leads his own jazz trio that performs regularly at restaurants and private events.
