James “Bo” Fletcher - Staff

Position: A&P Instructor - Erlanger
Joined: March 2024

Bo Fletcher started his aviation career when he joined the United States Navy in 2002. He successfully completed his airframe training and worked on the E-2C Hawkeye. He served aboard the USS John F Kennedy out of Norfolk, VA. He traveled the world with the Navy, but, after completion of his enlistment, Bo parted ways with the Navy and traveled the states. He sought higher education over the course of the next few years attending various colleges and universities. By 2016, he realized that aviation was one field he truly enjoyed. He went on to graduate from the National Aviation Academy New England and earned his Airframe and Powerplant certification in 2017.

Bo and his family moved to Kentucky where he found a job at Airborne Maintenance and Engineering Services. Bo excelled at his job, loved it, and quickly became a go-to mechanic. On the fourth of July 2023 Bo found himself in a bit of a predicament. He was in a part of the gorge he was unfamiliar with. Hidden cliffs throughout his hike, he pushed a bush aside and took a step that propelled his teaching career.

After a successful recovery from a spinal injury, Bo realized he had a job he loved but he could no longer do. As the fictional Dr. Ian Malcolm said in Jurassic Park, “Life, uh, finds a way”, and it found a way for Bo. Throughout his years of education Bo found that he had enjoyed teaching as much as he had enjoyed aviation. While in recovery, a new school opened in Erlanger, Kentucky, Epic Flight Academy, and they were hiring an instructor. Bo was fully qualified, applied, got the job, and continues looking forward.
