David Ewell was born and raised in Northern California. Growing up, he always had a passion for airplanes and the outdoors. David has kept an eye in the sky for as long as he can remember. Attending many airshows as a child and hanging out at the local airport with his grandfather, a career Air Force veteran, David soon found an opportunity to fly with a family friend in a powered glider. Instantly, he was hooked and knew that he wanted to make a career in aviation. After earning his PPL, David enrolled at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Science and completed the flight program there. Upon graduation, David earned his CFI and CFII ratings at Epic.
