Chris earned his PPL in the early 1980s and, by the mid-80s, he reached the CFI level, at which point he worked as a full-time instructor for a couple of years. After that he went back to school to earn a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, then continued work toward an MS in Electrical Engineering, and thereafter had a rewarding career in the Biomedical, Aerospace, and Communications fields.
Chris continued flying both for pleasure and as a free-lance instructor, collecting new certificates along the way (ATP-M, CFI, CFII, MEI, and Aviation Mechanic Certificates, in Airplane, Helicopter, and Glider categories). In 2014, he moved to Port Orange and was hired by American Eagle to fly the Embraer ERJ-135/145 based in Chicago O’Hare. During his “idle” time, he has enjoyed and continues to enjoy diverse aviation-related activities such as flying experimental aircraft, ultralights, drones, and gliders, as well as building and restoring an odd collection of aircraft. Now, he joins the Epic family to share what he has learned in 40 years of flying and help new aspiring aviators achieve their aviation career dreams.
