Facilities and Services Available to Students with Disabilities
Locations
Epic is committed to supporting students to be successful in their academic pursuits, regardless of the challenges they face. Epic is dedicated to providing appropriate services and accommodations to students with documented disabilities, in compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and other applicable regulations.
Students with disabilities who desire accommodations at Epic must make that request using the current Accommodation Request Form and provide supporting documentation of any disability. Preferably this should be provided before the first term of attendance; however, this process can be initiated at any time during the student’s education. No further steps in providing accommodations can take place until the student takes this first “self-identification” step.
Requests for accommodations, including the receipt of the Accommodation Request Form, can be initiated by a conversation, email or written request to the Program Director or Site Manager. Students requesting reasonable accommodations for testing and skill performance will be contacted for a meeting to discuss the nature of the request. Expenses for any learning assessments are the responsibility of the student. Accommodations are not retroactive. Students should be advised that accommodations may not be available on FAA and/or licensing exams. The licensing body is the sole determining agency on whether or not accommodations are available for testing.
Transfer of Credit Policies and Articulation Agreements
Locations
Epic Flight Academy partners with various colleges that accept Epic’s flight and/or aircraft mechanic training as college credit. View college articulation agreements here.
Additionally, students may transfer previous aviation training to Epic.
Applicants with prior training in General, Airframe, or Powerplant aircraft maintenance may be eligible for curriculum credit towards topics covered in the AMT program. To request review of previous training where an FAA Certificate has not yet been obtained, the student should inform their Recruiter and must supply all requested documentation necessary for review such as written records [i.e. FAA examination results, official transcripts, and/or certificate(s) of completion] on previous education and experience.
If the applicant has been issued an FAA Certificate for General, Airframe, or Powerplant, a copy of the certificate must be submitted for review. Epic will complete a documented evaluation, grant credit where appropriate, advise the student of credit eligibility in writing, and maintain all records as required by FAA regulation.
Calculator and Tuition Cost Disclaimer
Use this calculator to estimate total costs. This calculator reflects the average cost of attendance for enrollment in Epic’s most heavily populated program.
Disclaimer: Net price estimates are not final or binding and may change. Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be eligible for and receive Federal student aid funds.
Student Complaint Policy
Locations
- New Smyrna Beach, FL Aircraft Mechanic School (ACCSC Accredited)
- New Smyrna Beach, FL Flight School (ACCSC Accredited)
Epic has processes in place for all students to receive guidance and advice when they have questions, concerns, or problems during their training. The key to achieving a favorable solution is to communicate the problem promptly to the appropriate member of the Epic staff.
Flight Students
Any concerns should initially be addressed to the student’s instructor. Flight instructors are assembled into separate teams (for example, Private, Instrument, Commercial, CFI) with a specific Course Leader responsible for managing the day-to-day oversight functions of each course. If a student feels it would be inappropriate to discuss the situation with their instructor, they are encouraged to contact their Flight Course Manager, Student Services, or the Assistant Chief or Chief Flight Instructor. These staff members work diligently to resolve issues as quickly as possible. In situations that are not urgent, dire, or of imminent safety risk, students are encouraged to request an appointment with the appropriate staff member. The Safety Officer will be involved in all student and/or instructor counseling regarding flight safety, as well as any issues involving safety policy.

If a student feels it would be inappropriate to discuss the situation with their instructor, they are encouraged to contact Student Services, or the Program Director. In situations that are not urgent, dire, or of imminent safety risk, students are encouraged to request an appointment with the appropriate staff member.
ACCSC
If the student feels the staff has not adequately addressed any complaint or concern, the student may submit a written statement to the Chief Operating Officer. Students can expect written complaints to be reviewed and acknowledged within a timeframe appropriate for the situation. Epic employs capable individuals who oversee specific areas of training and strive to find favorable resolutions for both parties promptly.
Schools accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) must have a procedure and operational plan for handling student complaints. If a student does not feel the school has adequately addressed a complaint or concern, the student may consider contacting the accrediting commission. All complaints considered by the commission must be in written form, with permission from the complainant(s) for the commission to forward a copy of the complaint to the school for a response. The commission will keep the complainant(s) informed of the complaint’s status and final resolution.
