Epic Aviation (“Epic Flight Academy”) is seeking an experienced IT Director to lead our technology department and ensure our systems are robust, secure, and aligned with our educational mission. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and updating numerous PC workstations, ensuring the security of physical media, keeping flight simulators operational, and responding to IT tickets as they arise. This is a critical role that requires a proactive approach to IT management and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Planning and Development: Develop and implement IT strategies and infrastructure to support the school’s objectives.
- Workstation Maintenance: Ensure all PC workstations are up-to-date with the latest software, security patches, and system updates.
- Physical Media Security: Implement and manage security protocols for all physical media, including backups and data storage devices.
- Flight Simulator Management: Maintain and troubleshoot flight simulators to ensure they are fully operational and meet performance standards.
- IT Support: Provide prompt and effective technical support by responding to IT tickets, diagnosing issues, and resolving them in a timely manner.
- Network Administration: Oversee the network infrastructure to ensure reliable and secure connectivity for all users.
- Hardware and Software Management: Install, configure, and manage hardware and software, ensuring all systems run smoothly and efficiently.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of IT issues, resolutions, system configurations, and a comprehensive SOP.
- Training and Guidance: Manage IT staff by recruiting, training, and coaching employees on IT best practices and new technologies, communicating job expectations, and appraising their performance.
- Security Management: Implement and enforce IT security policies to protect against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an IT Director or similar role with a focus on PC maintenance, network administration, and IT security.
- Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Experience with aviation-specific software and technologies is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Experience with network configuration and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with flight simulator software and hardware.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Ability to manage and secure physical media.
Certifications:
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) are a plus.
Job Type:

Pay:
- $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
