Hello I was wondering what kind of iPad that I needed before I start my training in July. Do you prefer students to have an iPad mini or a regular iPad and do you also prefer the students to have a cellular iPad? thank you.

Welcome to the cockpit! Choosing the right iPad is one of the most important gear decisions you’ll make before July. While the FAA doesn’t mandate a specific model, most pilots at Epic and across the industry have reached a strong consensus.
The iPad Mini (Wi-Fi + Cellular) is the best choice because its size fits perfectly in a small cockpit without blocking controls, and the cellular model includes a built-in GPS necessary for navigation. Aim for at least 128 GB of storage to handle large aviation map files, and pair it with a specialized pilot kneeboard for use during your flights.
