I completed my degree outside the U.S. and I’m not sure if I need a credential evaluation for my immigration case. Has anyone been through this? What was your experience like?

For standard U.S. immigration processing to secure an M-1 flight school visa, the government does not require a foreign credential evaluation; a translated graduation certificate or transcript is sufficient. However, Epic Flight Academy specifically mandates an international transcript evaluation through their partner, SpanTran, as part of our own school enrollment process. Therefore, you will need to complete this evaluation for the school’s admissions team before we can generate your official visa paperwork.

Epic requires a credential evaluation from our partner SpanTran for enrollment, but you only need a translated diploma for immigration.
I went through a similar process here. Once your enrollment paperwork is sorted, you might focus on the FAA written exam. I used https://americanflyers.com/training/ground-school/commercial-written/ for that and found the weekend course really efficient: structured classroom, clear materials, and on-site testing afterward.
