What are the hiring requirements for Jetstar careers?

General Requirements:

Jetstar Australia / New Zealand:

A320 First Officer / B787 Second Officer:

  • 1,500 hours total aeronautical experience
  • 500 hours PIC or FO on multi-engine
  • 250 hours PIC (may include 150 hours PICUS)
  • Hold an Australian ATPL (Part 61) or CPL with passes in all Australian ATPL subjects
  • Hold an Australian Multi-Engine Aeroplane Instrument Rating with a 2D and 3D endorsement
  • ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 6 on your Licence
  • Current Class 1 medical certificate issued by CASA

NZ Regional Q300 Captain:

  • 4,000 hours total aeronautical experience
  • Minimum of 500 hours Pilot-In-Command (excluding ICUS) of fixed wing, multi-engine aircraft with a MTOW of 13,000kg or 1000 hours as a Co-Pilot in multi-engine turbine aircraft with a MTOW greater than 13,000kg
  • Ability to hold an Australian Air Transport Pilot License
  • English Language Proficiency Level 6 on your licence
  • Ability to hold CASA or CAANZ Class 1 Aviation Medical Certificate
