General Requirements:

Requirements for Commanders (type rated and experienced on any of the following types: Boeing 767/757, Airbus A320/321, Embraer 190)

  • Eligible for Kazakhstan citizenship
  • Current and valid Kazakhstan ICAO ATPL
  • Minimum of hours: 5500 hours total time
  • Minimum of hours Commander: 1500 hours on position
  • Minimum of hours Commander: 500 hours on type
  • Must pass a skill test on aircraft type, according to Air Astana standards
  • Maximum of 55 years of age
  • ICAO English level 4
  • Must be qualified for international flights
  • Must possess a valid and current class 1 medical
  • Must have flown within the last three months on the type and have a current LPC/OPC
  • No criminal records and no security restrictions
  • Good character and good conduct
  • Must pass the Air Astana internal evaluation program

Requirements for First Officers (type rated and experienced on any of the following types: Boeing 767/757, Airbus A320/321, Embraer 190)

  • Eligible for Kazakhstan citizenship
  • Current and valid Kazakhstan ICAO ATPL
  • If not JAR-FCL ATPL modular program qualified:
  1. Minimum of 1500 hours total time
  2. Minimum of 500 hours multi-engine, multi-crew tim
  3. Minimum of 500 hours on type and position

If JAR-FCL ATPL modular program qualified:

  1. Minimum of 1500 hours total time
  2. Minimum of 500 hours multi-engine, multi-crew time
  3. Minimum of 500 hours on type and position
  • Maximum of 45 years of age
  • ICAO English level 4
  • Must be qualified for international flights
  • Must possess a valid and current class 1 medical

Requirements for Junior First Officer with Kazakhstan License only:

  • Current and valid CPL
  • Minimum total flight hours – 400
  • Minimum hours on Multi-engine, Multi-Crew aircrafts -200
  • Class 1 medical
  • ICAO English level 4
  • Maximum age: 45 years old
  • Must have flown a Multi-engine, Multi-Crew aircraft within the last six (6) months. Applicants, who do not meet this requirement, may be considered, taking in to account their overall experience and professional background.
